Happy New Year peeps. 2012 ended well for me and I hope 2013 ends even better (proposal from Kintan) *wink*. I was supposed to post this in 2012 but, I didn't get to because the work at the office got more tedious at the close of the year. Please pardon me this time, I promise from next week its going to be 2013 post. I wish you a very fruitful 2013

The road to being a confirm big isn't easy but for most of us women it has become a thing of do or die affair, my man has always known me for the outstanding looks and everything that comes with it, if for anything I see a need to get something, especially when it is in limited edition then I go for it, this is my very weakness and I’m really working on it though.

Kintan and I have very good taste and I’m proud to be dating someone who sees things in the light at which I see them. The just concluded MTN/Lagos fashion week wasn't going to end without me snatching one for the designer pieces off the run way, the designs were to die for. I was even more convinced when I sat for one of the shows. Immediately I saw the piece above by Jewel by Lisa, I knew it was made for me, so I pinged Kintan and sent him a picture of the dress, I waited for minutes which was unlike Kintan to keep me waiting, only for ‘dude’ to ping me back asking “what for”.

#Ghenghen, dude be testing me o, I took a deep breath and decide to explain to him that I needed to get the dress, I loved it and wanted to wear it for our next official outing (scope so he can get it for me), I wanted him to see me in this dress. Kintan replied me saying it wasn't needed and that I have enough dresses already… just then I began to boil.

Kintan was making it look as if it was all the time I asked for a gift. My love language isn't gifts, its quality time, which he doesn't seem to have this past month. I later showed Kome what Kintan said about the dress only for Kome to start preaching to me about taking it slow and forgetting the dress since the man I was to wear it out with wasn't interested in it. In my head I was like ‘girl please shatap’.

Two days later my newly promoted CIO saw me staring at the dress during office hours and reminded me that the same dress was my DP on BBM, he asked what the drill with the dress was and I told him how I felt about the dress and he just walked away without a word. CIO invited me for lunch and I obliged, I was thinking of suggesting yellow chili when we past all food eateries and headed for the designer shop….boss man paid for the dress, matching shoes and statement jewelries to go, I was too excited to say the least. 

CIO and I had lunch at Yellow chili still and I couldn't stop thanking him, he dropped me off at home after work saving me cab fare, I didn't even greet my mom when I got upstairs all I wanted to do was send pics of my dress to Kome and showing her that the dress was in my closet. Kome was shocked, as she began to ask questions like she normally does, I know the thought in your heads right now….yea yea yea, CIO is interested in me, because he bought me a dress, but doesn't give ‘us’ right to conclude, so just like me, keep calm and watch him form caring guy first, till his intentions are made known.


This same dress I wore for Jaiye’s wedding after party, Kintan seeing the dress on me brought out a spite, he didn't talk about it, but the looks and atmosphere around him was that of ‘so you still got this dress’. I wasn't so comfortable around him, turning around to go sit down, there facing me was CIO, he is a friend of Jaiye’s wifey’s colleague.

TOOTH PICK AND SAUCERS

I was with some “brethrens” over the weekend and I had the horror surprise of my life, seeing how this “brethrens” drink tea and pick their teeth. My brethrens and I know each other quite well so it was more than usual to eat with a care free spirit around each other, but we’ve never really eaten together in a formal setting.

Tea was served first, then small chops and meat with toothpicks next. Lo and behold my “brethrens” swung into action.

The first person pick up his spoon, stirred his tea and left his spoon inside. who really does that, it was surprising to me because I kind of held quite a number of them in high esteem, not only did the first guy leave his spoon in his tea after stirring, so did 7 others. They all left their spoon after stirring.It made me wonder what they were thinking or were they just being themselves in a formal setting.

Meat time : it’s a surprise to see how my “brethren’s” gulp down the meat in such a hurry that making a very unpleasant and funny noise on its way to their to their stomach, You need to see my guys pick their teeth and bringing out the guts in their mouths (ewwwwwww face). It was like a never ending scene, these guys are really not smiling about eating meat to the fullest, it’s like they want to savor every strand that makes up the meat. Gosh! my guys didn't even respect the fact that they were in front of other people, they just kept picking, bringing out “escapee meat” hidden in their teeth and making that snake like sound, ah I almost cried, I was irritated.

Here is a tip for you guys if you reading this. You can actually cover your mouth while you pick your teeth. Save everyone the stress of watching NTA News in trying to erase the eeewy memory you created.

So I have picked my best dressed from the and my not so best...... #myopinion

BEST DRESSED

Jennifer Lopez in a floor length Grecian-inspired Zuhair Murad nude dress with silver lace overlay. She opted for a side-hair do and accessorized with diamond earrings and a gold clutch. This is beauty divine for me, the dress is wow, almost an identical to my wedding dress *wink*, but that hair I think I will change my wedding day hair to this or what do you think?

Jessica Alba the actress and mother of 2 wore a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta orange dress and paired her outfit with a diamond necklace and orange clutch. The colour and is hardly seen on a red carpet, it goes really well on her and her jewelry is the koko.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Rising actress, Julianne Hough arrived with her hubby, Ryan Seacrest in a dramatic white dress from Monique Lhuillier‘s Resort 2013 collection. Now this is the embellishment on my wedding gown for real. the gold embellishment on the gown is dropping like diamonds from her shoulders. Nice hair too.

Hollywood startlet, Jennifer Lawrence, The Hunger Games star opted for a sleek up-do which complemented her Christian Dior Couture orange dress with a voluminous skirt. Like the voluminous skirt but their is something about this look that I think she could have improved on.....*thinking*

American Country sweetheart, Taylor Swift arrived at Golden Globes in a dramatic Donna Karan Atelier dress. Colour is Ho lala, the hair is right, the length is perfect and the back..... This dress is indescribable perfection for me, I can already picture myself in it. Madt sense.


NOT SO COOL

Gabby Douglas wore a sequined chartreuse-hued Pamella Rolland gown, this gown doesn't do justice to her at all, the hair looks it was forced on her...SMHing. The colour is unusual and beautiful for the red carpet but the many misses makes the whole look crappy. I love your achievement Gabby, but please don't do this again. 

Lucy Liu, who was a presenter at the awards ceremony wore a floral Carolina Herrera dress with a voluminous skirt. Now this dress isn't me at all, the floral is perfect for a movie set wit a princess in far far away land. No No.

Real Housewives star, Nene Leakes was also present at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards. the outfit is NO for me, what was she thinking, like seriously whats with the shirt thing ehn.... don't like .

OUR MEN

Double winner of the night, Ben Affleck proved his movie star status arriving in a blue tuxedo. Pulling a blue tux on a red carpet is the work of a genius and Ben has proved himself to be one by winning two awards. Guys take a Que from Ben, Blue Tux is statement personified.

Flying solo on the red carpet was Best Supporting Actor nominee, Leonardo DiCaprio looked sharp and clean in a black tuxedo, yes black is a classic for the red carpet but Leonardo has this persona that makes you love him no matter how he looks. Leonardo I love you (screaming).

Who wears a black suit better than a black man?, I cant think of any right now....Best Actor in TV series, Don Cheadle breaks the law and make do with a straight tie instead, nice twist to the whole "bow tie" thing.

Yes I know Christmas is gone and I shouldn’t be posting this now bla bla bla, well,  I’m sorry, really being busy and my lappy has being showing me its worth and impact in my life and I’m hoping that God will send an helper to buy me or aid me buy a tab soonest. J.

I got ticket to go for coolfm praise and was suppose to go with Op but Op had to travel and make Google money, so I picked up my phone and decided to pick one male friend. (don’t ask me who he is). But we didn’t end up going together because of unresolved issue. Who better next in line than my sister…yelz sister day out.

Opening act was Voice of Truth, they are visually impaired and they sang the national anthem and a track from their album titled ‘Simi laya jesu’ prod by renowned Wole Oni, for visually impaired persons they did well, after them came a guy called Donny, immediately the whole centre sat down like we were commanded to sit, he came out like he was going to blow us away, little did we know that he was going to fall short of the glory we expected of him (my opinion). Fey Fey came to our rescue with her Mariah Carey type of voice, Fey Fey is a very pretty girl, her orange coloured gown did good justice to her frame, it was well tailored and the cuts were in the right places, after a first song, which I can’t remember the title ‘cause I was thrilled by her voice, she also did a guitar version of ‘Karesimesi’. God bless Fey Fey and take her places IJN ❤_❤.

The Pillarz were at their best, the lead singers pee pee was staring at me….why me the Pillarz were tight, they were on top of their game, though some members changed. Different from the usual faces I use to know then, their voices together brought down Gods awesomess. Pillarz if you ever read this and it’s not too late, Island loves you and they can’t wait to have you again,  Then came Dayo S (-_-) M H, if you understand what I mean, good, if you don’t, Google it. Peace dancers came next, wearing a confusing costume; some wore black T’s on camouflage, while others wore all, maybe not so confusing then, but their steps was not so tight but their concept was the ish, they got to a point where a guy sang Kore’s Somore and a guy used a babe as his mic stand, mehn the crowd went gaga, shouting about the girls arm, the lady beside me was all screaming in pain as if its was her, when peace dancers got of stage the lady beside me was practically advising me as if I was the girl to get a serious massage, that mic thingy was the ghen ghen.

Emma OMG, a comedian did his stuff well, his jokes were very realistic stuffs that would make you laugh, good guy. Buchi walked on stage and the crowd went frenzy, his opening act was fab, Buchi was looking older but the strength and swag of a Rastaman was still obvious, Buchi was worship personified on that stage, his instrumentalists are badt too. That cap on his head was a sign that he was still the Rasta he was and he will always be. Yaw and his Wazobia crew did unrepairable damage to our ribs, Yaw is one handsome guy I can marry for free, his pink bishop neck shirt was the perfect match for him *yawning*, this one guy called Ogbolo said this joke I really like, here it goes:

“One guy dey our church him name na bro kingsley, this bro get bad mouth odour and I don bear am tire, our choir master go say make we face each other dey sing, since I no fit bear am again na im I vex eat beans wey don sour for one week and salad wey den dey cupboard for one month, as I say make I dey go, I com site garlic and I put am for my mouth joing, I con say make I taste am if my mouth odour self don strong and a put my mouth for bulb blow breeze nai the bulb burst, I con nod my head say yes bro Kingsley go die on Sunday, I no come brush my mouth through out that week, on Sunday as I reach church bro Kingsley com dey signal me say make I come quick we won sing alleluyah chorus, as I stand opposite am, I con long my neck so that I go long reach am, na imi choir master give us go ahead, I shout aaaaahhhh, bro kingsley blind, I bind him neck com don continue dey shout the Halleluyah na im Bro kingsley con mad, hin stil dey Yaba Left till now.  I love ogbono to the core, he will go places, I’m sure of that.

Eben came on stage looking dashing, that jacket he wore was ‘It’ for me, Eben no fall hand at all, his worship was heart felt, he lead worship like I have never experienced, I’m still holding on to his voice, he took the spot light from the guy sitting 3 sits away who was winking at me…Eben I trip o. Mc Abbey is one very diplomatic comedian, cool guy, his jokes were simple and edge cutting. Tim Godfrey and the Xtreme Praise Crew are an acrobatic group, if you don’t exercise like me, then you need to book an appointment with Tim Godfrey and his crew. They will make a perfect gym instructor. They make you jump from one end to another, teaching you that to praise god takes more than just your hand and kneeling, your whole body must be involved in it. Tim and the crew have madt voices; I love their colour blocking dress code.

Akpororo came next and did his thing, nice jokes but also a wonderful singer….the guy can modulate Jisos….I think he should do more music in his jokes, It made him very distinct that night (Although Op later told me that he came to the entertainment scene as a singer before switching like Gordons). After Akpororo came the father of Nigerian Gospel music from way back in the 80’s in the person of Panam Percy Paul, same dance steps, same voice, Fresh grace. Panam should the true meaning of a Veteran, did all his popular songs like Jeus na big man, When Jesus came down and others, after that his son came with this very deep baritone voice to render ‘bring down your glory’, very cute guy almost identical to M.I just taller. I left during Dr. Panam’s ministration, couldn’t wait for Sammie okposo and infinity, my guy Ikpemhosi and other comedians.

Halima Abubaka, Ali Baba and his wife, Frank Edoho’s ex wife Cathrine, Gbenga Adeyinka, AY, Jedi, Genevieve Nnaji, Ush baby, Pencil, Vina of BBA house we all had the VIP treatment. I’m ❤_❤ the VIP life. Coolfm Praise Jam was my Christmas carol and I did have a wonderful time thanks to Golden penny (Home of good foods) for the VIP tickets and the bag of good foods they gave everyone in attendance. You guys made my Christmas.
