MY WIFE JUST BORN O

This heading sounds like the speaker is telling people about his joy right?.... no his not, that up there is a cry for help by an Okada rider whom injustice was melted upon. I was on my way to computer village to get a laptop charger, the driver of the bus stopped at the Mobil filling station at Ojota Bustop to refill his tank when I heard this young Okada rider crying and saying 'my wife just born o'.

This rider was being beaten by police officers and his bike was to be taken from him, the reason for his beating I cant say, but what else will make a police man beat an Okada rider or want to take his bike.....this Okada rider held on to his Okada, like he is holding on to Jesus, with the screams and tears strolling down his cheek. A crowd of market women, men and fellow Okada riders began to gather and rain abuses on this policemen. With the look of things, it seems this crowd was not going to let this police men take this man's Okada away...but still no one stopped the policemen physically, not even the fuel attendants.

Seeing a man cry brought a feeling of pity from me, I imagined his baby, his wife, who would be expecting her husband to come back home at the close of work and bring money for feeding, I imagined the look on his wife's' face when she hears that his source of income has been taken from him, how was this man expected to cope with this harsh economy, why not just take his drivers license from him, why not issue him a ticket or something....why take his livelihood and that of his family.

As the bus was about to move out of the filling station, a fellow passenger said 'one day everyone in this country will have to start using arms....really', its almost getting to that point, with the rate of injustice in Nigeria, masses will have no choice but to take laws into their hands and save themselves since the people in authority, maybe then the revolution we all have been yearning for will ......

Yours blogger,
